Power BI: change the source file from Power BI Service
From the cloud, to update the source location from Power BI Service, you will need to configure an option in Power BI Desktop first. Go to the Power Query Editor by clicking on “home -> transform data -> transform data”:

Click on “manage parameters -> new parameter”:

Fill the fields:

NOTE: in “type”, make sure to select “text”
Click on “data source settings”:

Select the source then click on “change source”:

Click on the “url” to select the parameter:

Save and publish your report in the cloud. From Power BI Service, to change the source, just open the “parameters” then if it is the first time to access to this new source, Power BI will request you to sign in again:

NOTE: before to be able to edit the “parameters”, if the workspace is used by multiple admins/members, click first on “take over” when you see this message:
